PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

REMCOAT Pure Polyester Series is a Pure Polyester TGIC powder coating developed to satisfy the requirements of exterior durability with attractive decorative finishes combined with optimum protective and functional properties. REMCOAT Pure Polyester series offers excellent gloss retention and resistance to color change. It also satisfies the highest requirements for many industries for aesthetic performance, UV Light resistance and humidity resistance.

AREAS OF APPLICATION:

REMCOAT Pure Polyester series is recommended for Exterior Application. Typical application areas are Aluminum extrusions, Door frames, Window Panes, Automotive components, Farm Equipment, Garden Furniture, Playground items, Air - Conditioner covers, Architectural items, etc.

PROPERTIES (Powder):

Chemical Nature: Pure Polyester - TGIC System

Specific Gravity: Typically 1.2 - 1.8 depending on shade and gloss

Coverage (Theoretical): At the recommended film thickness of 50-60 microns (1 kg of powder will cover about 8 to 10 sq. meters)

Particle Size: < 125 um, 100% Passing

Distribution: < 32 microns, 30-40%

Storage Stability: At least 12 months in original packed condition stored at temperature below 25 deg. C.

Packaging: 1 lbs, 5 lbs and 10 lbs in Plastic Double bag, 20 lbs in cardboard cartons

PRODUCT DATA APPLICATION:

Pre-Treatment: Standard 7 tank Zn Phosphate of Iron Phosphate for M.S. and Yellow Chromate for Aluminum.

Voltage: Electrostatic Powder Spray - 40 to 100 KV

Curing Schedule: 400 deg. F for 10 min. metal temperature

(Object Temperature) 400 deg. F for 10 min. metal temperature

PERFORMANCE DATA (for normal baked film at 50-60 micron film thickness on Zinc Phosphated CRS):

1. Powder Properties:

~ Color - Clear

~ Particle Size on 330 mesh - > 65% passes; on 150 mesh - < 10% retention

~ Specific Gravity - 1.2 - 1.8

~ Theoretical Coverage - 8 -10 sq.mt./kg on 100% material utilisation

~ Workability - Good

~ Shelf Life - 12 months from the date of manufacture stored below 25 deg. C

~ Recommended Film Thickness - 50 - 60 microns (Plain Finish)

2. Initial Film Properties:

~ Gloss Level - 90%+ Gloss (at 60 deg)

~ Appearance - Smooth and uniform film

~ Flow Levelling - Good

3. Mechanical Properties:

~ Adhesion - No loss of adhesion

~ Cross cut 2 mm

- Impact Resistance - Passes 50-140 cm/kg (depending on color)

- Scratch Resistance - Passes 5 kg

- Pencil Hardness - Passes H - 2H

- Flexibility - Passes 6 mm

4. Chemical Resistance:

~ Salt Spray Test - Passes 1000 Hours (5% NaCl solution)

~ Humidity Resistance - Passes 1000 Hours without blistering (42-48 deg.C, RH-100%)

~ Acid Resistance - Passes (5% H2SO4 for 72 hrs)

~ Alkali Resistance - Passes (5% NaOH for 72 hrs)
